Discover our website, which is dedicated to the F1 in Schools project. Here, you will find essential information about the rules, regulations, and stages of this exciting engineering and design challenge, where teams of students worldwide compete to create the fastest and most innovative miniature Formula 1 car. Join us on this journey of passion for technology and speed!
F1 in Schools is an international STEM competition that invites students aged 9 to 19 to immerse themselves in a miniature racing competition, modeling a real F1 company, in which groups of 3 to 6 students must design and manufacture a miniature car from the official F1 model block using CAD/CAM design tools.
It's not just a race; it reproduces the professional challenges of Formula 1, from team creation to competition on the track. Students use technological resources to design, model, and test a prototype of an F1 car. They also need to consider marketing strategies, sponsorships, business plans, and social media strategies. The teams also need to develop a social project that can serve as a tiebreaker at the end of the competition.
Furthermore, it aims to help change perceptions of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by creating a fun and stimulating learning environment for young people to develop an informed view about careers in engineering, Formula 1, science, marketing, and technology.
PROJECT - ANALYZE - CREATE - TEST - RACING
Students use AutoCAD software to design their cars, analyze them using software that virtually simulates aerodynamics, manufacture using g-codes (machining machine programming language), and test aerodynamics using wind tunnels at universities. When ready, the cars compete on the official F1 In Schools tracks.
The competition features verbal presentations, portfolio, stand display, business judging sessions, project management, and engineering, in addition to the intense pressure of the 25 meters track of F1 In Schools.
